Question
Answer
Pistol Permit Questions
How do I get a pistol permit or license to carry weapons or pepper spray.

You must take a required and approved weapons safety training course. Once a course has been finished, an application must be completed in full and submitted to the department with proof of the training course. Currently, Chief Handfield and Secretary Kim Corey process permits Monday through Friday.

Power Outages
I see a hazard such as a down wire, arcing/sparking wire, pole, or transformer, tree resting on the wire, etc...

Call the police station and report the hazard, as this is a situation that may need police response in addition to National Grid or other utilities companies.

The power just went out and I want to know when it is going to come back on.

If there is no emergency as mentioned above, contact National Grid's customer Power Outage and Emergency Phone line at 1-800-465-1212 to report the outage.

If you are reporting the outage from a different location or wish to check on the status of outages in the area, follow the link to this helpful National Grid "Storm Central" page where you can find out information from the company directly.

Do not call 911 unless there is an emergency situation. Power outage inquiries to 911 block critical phone lines for needed emergencies. The power company does not regularly call the police regarding outages and updates.

Someone in my house has life-sustaining medical equipment Follow the link to the "Life-Sustaining Equipment" page on National Grid's web site. There is more information about how to notify the company and a link for a form to complete and return to them.
