MILLBURY POLICE DEPARTMENT ONLINE Welcome to the Millbury Police Department web site. In an effort to further reach out to the community, the web site has been developed to provide important information that can be useful to the citizens of The Town of Millbury. Currently, the Millbury Police Department is staffed by a compliment of 18 full-time sworn officers, 10 sworn special police officers, 4 full-time civilian dispatchers, and 5 part-time dispatchers. The department is charged with the task of public safety and criminal incident investigation within the 15 square mile town, which has approximately 13,000 residents. Geographically, Millbury is located directly south of Worcester, one of New England's largest cities. Known as the "Gateway to the Blackstone Valley," the town has seen growth beyond what many citizens may have imagined or even expected. With the recent addition of the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley Mall and continuously busy travel routes including: Rte 146 between Worcester and Providence, the Mass Pike, Rte. 20, and Rte 122, the police department faces many additional operational challenges as the town continues to grow. It is with this continued progression of the town and police department in mind, the need for a department web site to serve as a means to reach out to citizens is recognized. As you explore the web site, you will find valuable content such as phone numbers, department news and contacts, safety issues, traffic information/construction delays, and links to other important sites of interest. In addition, there are pages dedicated to specific programs operating within the department, such as: Project D.R.E.A.M. (DARE), Rape Aggression Defense classes, child safety seat inspections and various traffic safety initiatives. You can learn more about these important programs by clicking on the links provided or contacting the officers involved in these beneficial assignments. Please use this site as a continued resource for news and information, as it will be updated on a frequent basis. If you have comments or suggestions about the website please email the department webmaster Officer Frank Piscitelli.
